Preserving Classic Language-Learning Programs
For decades, groundbreaking television courses brought languages to life through storytelling, conversation, and cultural immersion. These programs inspired generations of students and teachers, but many have become increasingly difficult to find.
When Annenberg Learner ceased operations on July 1, 2026, SW Florida Spanish, Inc. began preserving public access to these programs and their supporting educational materials. That effort grew into Language Classics, a growing collection for new generations of language learners.

Many of these programs were created decades ago for public television and later remained available through educational websites such as Annenberg Learner. As those original sources disappeared, access to the programs and their supporting materials became increasingly uncertain.
In 2026, SW Florida Spanish, Inc. began preserving access to selected classic language-learning resources so they could continue to serve students, teachers, and lifelong learners. Language Classics grew from that effort and now provides a dedicated home for these materials.
Our goal is not simply to preserve old videos, but to keep useful educational resources accessible and organized for future learners.
